Pirastro P112231 violin string A-2 soft (14 1/4), gut

The Pirastro P112231 violin string A-2 soft (14 1/4) is an authentic gut string, specially developed for Baroque music and historically instrumented playing. This A-2 soft version delivers a warm, full tone and a wide dynamic range, allowing both subtle rubato passages and forte accents to resonate clearly. The natural gut breathes in the tone and response, allowing articulation and phrasing to express themselves purely in historical styles.

Ideal for players who prefer a historical sound: baroque ensembles, solo baroque repertoire, and violinists with gut strings. With a 14 1/4-inch scale, this string fits many baroque violins perfectly, and the A-2 soft tension offers a pleasant playing experience without excessive pressure. Practical tips: store gut strings dry and out of direct sunlight, install them carefully, and check the tension each time you set them up for optimal intonation and response.
